Zeetin Technologies is preparing to launch its tricycle assembly plant in Abuja, offering vehicles built in Nigeria for Nigerians and, by extension, for the wider African economy that shares the same daily transport challenges.
The formal unveiling takes place on Wednesday, 21 October 2026, in Abuja. Former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan will chair the event. The ceremony marks the official arrival of the VZ150 and VZ200 models, assembled at the company’s facility in the Idu Industrial Area of the Federal Capital Territory. These are not imported finished products stamped with a new badge. They result from a technical partnership with VIAR Motor of Indonesia, a firm with more than three decades of experience designing and building three-wheelers. Nigerian technicians trained at VIAR’s plant in Semarang now work on the Abuja factory floor, bringing that knowledge home.
High-Profile Launch and Industrial Growth
The official launch of the factory and its flagship products is set to be chaired by former Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan. The unveiling highlights the growing importance of domestic manufacturing in building industrial independence and curbing heavy reliance on fully imported vehicles.
The name “Zeetin” comes from a phrase meaning “for you,” which reflects the brand’s focus on user-centred utility. Beyond assembling standard fuel models, the facility is designed to support future expansions into alternative energy options, including compressed natural gas and electric models, to lower fueling costs even further.
Powering Small Businesses with Local Engineering
The newly established facility focuses heavily on solving the logistics problems of small and medium enterprise owners, market traders, farmers, and delivery agents. By producing three-wheelers locally, the initiative provides a reliable alternative to expensive haulage trucks and costly imports.
Azibaola Robert, Chairman of Zeetin Technologies and Kakatar Group Limited, highlighted that the core purpose of establishing the plant is to cut down transportation expenses for business operators. Lowering logistics costs directly helps traders preserve profit margins, lower retail prices for goods, and expand their delivery reach into communities that larger vehicles struggle to navigate easily.

Creating Jobs and Strengthening Regional Trade
The launch of the assembly plant provides valuable economic momentum beyond vehicle sales alone. Localising the production process creates skilled technical jobs, drives vocational knowledge transfer, and expands opportunities for domestic auto parts suppliers.
As intra-African commerce grows, affordable cargo and passenger three-wheelers are rapidly becoming the backbone of urban and rural distribution channels. By delivering locally assembled transport solutions, Zeetin Technologies is laying a practical foundation for stronger economic mobility and self-reliant industrial production across the region.
