President Donald Trump has launched a fresh controversy by calling on Microsoft to disengage Lisa Monaco, who is the company’s president of global affairs. According to a post on Truth Social, Trump contended that Monaco’s roles give her access to information. Additionally, he described this as “highly sensitive” and “unacceptable.” The Trump-Microsoft connection has gained traction on digital media, touching on politics and technology.

It is noteworthy that Monaco served as Deputy Attorney General under Biden and held senior national security roles under Obama. As a step further in her career, she joined Microsoft in May to oversee its cybersecurity policies and government relations.
However, Trump believes her background disqualifies her from the position. He argues she represents what he calls “lawfare and weaponization” within government. Recall that earlier this year before the Trump-Microsoft clash, he rescinded her security clearance alongside those of Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Hillary Clinton, and members of the Biden family.
Trump-Microsoft: Political Pressure on Microsoft
It is, however, worth noting that Microsoft has declined to comment on Trump’s demand. Nevertheless, the company faces pressure from Trump allies such as Laura Loomer. It’s also notable that Loomer has repeatedly criticized Monaco’s hiring while targeting Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella. Laura celebrated Trump’s latest remarks and even admonished the president to “cancel all of Microsoft’s government contracts.” The Trump-Microsoft partnership has now transcended the ordinary, as it involves Microsoft beyond Lisa Monaco herself.
TechPolyp observes that this development is yet another instance of Trump targeting prominent tech executives since returning to office. He recently called for the resignation of Intel’s president, Lip-Bu Tan, only to later praise him after a government funding deal was reached.

This particularly involves cybersecurity and partnerships with the government. However, for now, Monaco remains in her role, but the political pressure shows no sign of easing.
