During its CES 2026 presentation, Infinix did not unveil a new phone. Instead, it has revealed a new feature that one of its forthcoming Note 60 phone models will include, known as Global Satellite Calling. This technology will use Infinix Satellite Communication and will be the inaugural consumer smartphone featuring satellite capabilities, enabling calls and messages globally.

Infinix stated that the technology will have coverage in almost two-thirds of the planet’s surface. It will facilitate transmission rates of 4kbps, which is not significant for users accustomed to our typical broadband speeds. However, the company claims this qualifies as “high definition voice calls” and allows for short messages in both directions. The former additionally facilitates calls made in speaker mode or through Bluetooth headsets.

Fortunately, Infinix states that there’s no need to register to access the service. It will automatically alternate between mobile roaming and satellite connectivity as required. Beneficial when you find yourself in an unanticipated signal-free area.

Infinix claims that the Note 60 series will be the initial ones to showcase the technology. It doesn’t clarify whether this applies to the entire series or just a specific model, such as an Ultra variant. Similarly, the specific launch period for the phone has not been determined, aside from the general timeframe of 2026.
