CES is considered by many to be the world’s largest technology event. This year’s event will take place from January 6 to 9, 2026, but the celebrations will kick off a few days prior with activities such as CES Unveiled and press briefings with leading tech leaders.

The event was formerly centred nearly entirely on consumer electronics. Nonetheless, the technology landscape has undergone a significant transformation with AI and other emerging technologies leading the way. Similarly, CES has evolved into an expansive tech event that encompasses various aspects, including robotics, chips, screens/display, software, and more.

From a technical standpoint, consumer electronics remain the primary focus, as chips, robots, software, and various other products will eventually be used by consumers. Consumers are expected to be impressed by the advancements that major tech firms will showcase at this year’s CES, held at the Las Vegas Convention Centre.

We are expecting to see several products and innovations that will wow many people and instantly enter their wishlists. Samsung, Sony, LG, and other manufacturers will be present, showcasing their latest collections of premium televisions featuring ultra-clear OLED displays and impressively large dimensions. (Samsung is expected to unveil a 98-inch edition of its The Frame television, which resembles a framed artwork when not in use for viewing.)

Expect enhancements in home devices, like LG’s robotic vacuum, featuring a docking station meant to fit beneath a kitchen sink, allowing it to be concealed when idle. Also, expect to see advancements in home security technologies.

Robotics

Robotics has been emerging and will be a key focus of this year’s event. Expect to see further improvements to lawn mowing and pool cleaning robots. One robot vacuum will feature legs to help it in climbing over small staircases. Roborock, which revealed a robot equipped with an arm to pick up items like pet toys and discarded socks last year, is expected to showcase its Qrevo Curv 2, featuring a retractable mop that allows it to clean hardwood floors without soaking carpets.

In the previously mentioned, chips will be a key focus in this event. Expect chipmakers like AMD, Qualcomm, and Intel to unveil new products, nearly all of which are aimed at improving AI compatibility. Expect to see the roll out of more advanced chips for laptops, smartphones, or other types of technology.

Certainly, artificial intelligence will be a hot topic in this event. Regarding industry news, expect to hear significant updates from the keynote speech by AMD CEO Lisa Su, who is expected to “outline her vision for providing future AI solutions — spanning cloud, enterprise, edge, and devices.” Lenovo’s CEO Yuanqing Yang will lead discussions at Vegas’s Sphere on how AI is transforming people’s lifestyles, entertainment, and jobs. It is expected that Caterpillar CEO Joe Creed will address it in his keynote as well.

Another notable innovation to expect is Hypershell’s exoskeleton, designed to help hikers and cyclists achieve more with reduced effort.

Lego will be attending the show for the first time in eight years, showcasing a new product.

CES will be a blend of the good, the not so good, and the absurd. Some products will gain considerable attention but will remain stuck in the prototype stage. Companies will be aiming to capitalise on this event by unveiling products superior to those offered by their competitors. Finally, expect to see and groundbreaking and transformatives products that could significantly transform people’s’ everyday lives. And that’s what draws people to Las Vegas each January.
