Scientists have said robots could treat infertility by magnetic-driven microscrews providing a solution to fallopian tube blockages.

The high-tech piece of equipment can provide a “precise” way through the tube’s “delicate and narrow” structures.

Doctor Haifeng Xu, from the Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology in China, believes it could offer people a solution to infertility problems.

He is quoted by the Daily Star newspaper as saying: “The robot successfully clears a cell cluster obstruction placed in the channel, mimicking a typical blockage in the female reproductive system.

“This magnetic control provides precise navigation through the delicate and narrow structures of the fallopian tube.”
