Just after the streaming powerhouse YouTube unveiled a redesigned appearance, the company has unveiled a new set of restrictions on content that may be unsuitable for children. This includes modifications to the platform’s policy regarding gambling-related content and violence in video games.
A New Set of Restrictions on Gambling Content
The updated regulations will take effect on November 17, introducing several alterations that content creators need to consider. YouTube states that the modifications aim to enhance user safety on the platform and tackle excessive gambling.
YouTube now limits content that directs users to gambling sites that lack Google certification. The updated regulations will extend this to include all online gambling and related items. Consequently, videos that lead users to gambling websites will face restrictions or ban. This includes alternative forms of gambling like crypto and NFTs.
