On Thursday, September 4, Tecno unveiled the Pova Slim, which it claims is the world’s thinnest 5G device with a curved screen.
Tecno’s new release, the Pova Slim, is an exceptional and exciting gadget measuring 5.95 mm in thickness. It features a screen with 1.5K resolution and a 144 Hz refresh rate. For display, the Tecno Pova Slim is adorned with an impressive 6.78-inch 3D curved AMOLED display. With a 1.5K resolution and a refresh rate of 144 Hz, the phone offers much in terms of resolution and speed.
The Tecno Pova Slim Processor
The Pova Slim is equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 processor. Despite the phone’s incredible features, it is nonetheless a mid-range smartphone compared to the Galaxy S25 Edge and the highly anticipated iPhone 17 Air.
World’s Slimmest 5G Smartphone?
Though the Tecno Pova Slim’s 5.95 mm thickness is ultra-slender, it is slightly thicker than the Galaxy S25 Edge, which measures 5.8 mm. This implies that the phone may not necessarily be the world’s slimmest 5G phone. However, it is the thinnest phone with a curved display.

The phone’s rear features a distinctive elongated snake-shaped camera module containing a 50MP main camera. 2-megapixel lens.
It features a built-in LED strip, which Tecno calls “Dynamic Mood Light.” The firm claims these LEDs will illuminate for alerts and calls, adding character to the device.
Also, the Tecno Pova Slim comes from the box with a HiOS based on Android 15. However, the company has not specified whether the device will receive any OS updates.
The Tecno Pova Slim has 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage and 8GB of RAM. It has quite similar features to other devices in its price range, which is around N450,000. The device has an IP64 rating. This means the smart is well protected against dust and can withstand water splashes.
Yet, despite its thinness, Tecno has successfully included a 5,160mAh battery that offers 45W wired charging support.
Pova Slim 5G will be available in three beautiful colours: Sky Blue, Slim White, and Cool Black. It will be available in retail outlets beginning September 8th, 2025.
