Eve, an AI platform for law firms, is launching Reasoning Mode AI today. It claims that it can execute complex legal analysis on par with a senior-level lawyer using an advanced reasoning capability. It describes its new product as “a significant leap forward in legal technology, enabling deeper analysis and more comprehensive responses,” the company described its Reasoning Mode AI as “a powerful new tool that transforms how legal professionals work”.
The company believes that its new tool, which evaluates evidence and verifies consistency across various documents and claims, executes legal jobs clinically and methodically. The new feature follows several months after Eve raised $47 million in Series A funding, which was led by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), a prominent venture capital firm.
Other fundraisers at the funding include Menlo Ventures and Lightspeed Venture Partners. The company stated that the investment would support its rapid market expansion and drive product development.
“We created this app because attorneys need more than just basic automation,” said Jay Madheswaran, CEO and co-founder of Eve. “They need tools that improve the quality of their legal analysis and help them tackle complex cases more efficiently, all while maintaining the high standards their clients expect”.
A Suite of Legal Tasks You Can Perform With Reasoning Mode AI
As Eve’s Reasoning Mode launches, the company says that it is packed with advanced features to meet every attorney’s needs. It also promised to add more features in future updates.
Reasoning Mode AI Can Perform Tasks Such As:
- Damage Calculations: Eve says it can deliver precise pre-litigation damage estimates, reducing calculation errors and strengthening initial demand figures. In beta testing, attorneys reported saving up to 60% of time previously spent on manual calculations while achieving higher accuracy, Eve says.
- Case Evaluations: Eve says this feature can rapidly assess a case’s viability during intake, identifying strong claims and flagging incomplete information. This can help ensure that a firm applies consistent evaluation standards across all matters.
- Legal Analysis: This feature allows Reasoning Mode to identify discrepancies and recommend pertinent case law, which can improve motion drafting and pleading review.
- Settlement Strategy: Eve claims it can offer insights into the best settlement ranges based on case trends and court traditions. This has, according to Eve, assisted firms in reaching settlements that are typically 15-20% greater than those obtained through conventional bargaining techniques.
Final Notes
According to Eve, Reasoning Mode is especially useful for complicated legal work. Law professionals can use its platform to compute damages and identify key advantages in a legal case. Attorneys can also use the platform to generate legal letters and correspondences with utmost precision and accuracy.
Eve’s platform offers services like pre-litigation tools for creating legal papers, intake and evaluation capabilities for determining which cases are the best, and other forms of litigation support. Eve claimed to have seen five times revenue growth and has been adopted by over 80 new law firms in the last eight months. This translates to an 800 percent rise in its customer base within a year. The company reported this significant market traction in early 2025.
