The software developer is introducing a new Office Agent in Excel and Word that can create detailed spreadsheets and documents with a prompt. A new Office Agent in Copilot chat, driven by Anthropic models, is debuting today that can effortlessly generate PowerPoint presentations and Word documents from a “vibe working” chatbot.
“Today we’re introducing Vibe working to Microsoft 365 Copilot with Agent Mode in Office applications and Office Agent in Copilot chat,” states Sumit Chauhan, Corporate Vice President of Microsoft’s Office Product Group. “Just as vibe coding has revolutionised software development, the newest reasoning models in Copilot enable autonomous productivity for Office materials.”

The Office Agent in Excel and Word is an enhanced iteration of the Copilot that Microsoft has incorporated into its Office applications. It aims to simplify Excel’s complex aspects for non-expert users.
Office Agent can generate complete PowerPoint presentations, simultaneously conducting online research and offering a real-time view of slides. Microsoft aims to enable Office to stand out from the array of AI tools. Also it is working on producing the perfect AI tool for documents, spreadsheets, and slide presentations.
