Meta has launched a new feature that enables users to invite their friends to virtual meetings on Hyperscape via Meta Horizon. The upgrade is part of the company’s initiatives to improve user engagement in its virtual spaces.

Each space can accommodate a maximum of eight people. Also, it requires that participants are 18 years of age or older and have a valid access link to the space.

Accessibility

The recently added feature is available via a Meta Quest 3 or Meta Quest 3S headset, and it can also be accessed through the Meta Horizon mobile app on both Android and iOS devices.

This support for multiple platforms guarantees that users can participate in virtual hangouts using their chosen device.

The update appears to be part of a broader plan by Meta to enhance the accessibility and user experience of its virtual environments.

Based on Hyperscape Capture Technology

The innovative feature is powered by Hyperscape Capture, a technology that Meta presented at its Connect conference earlier this year. The technology allows users to scan physical environments with a Meta Quest and generate digital copies.

This creative application of the technology offers personalised virtual hangouts, allowing users to design a virtual replica of their own homes for these gatherings.

Plans for the Future

Meta intends to further enhance virtual gathering features in future. The option to invite for virtual meets is being rolled out progressively for accounts.

Also, the company intends to increase the number of participants in the VR conference. As earlier stated, the Hyperscape spaces allows a maximum of 8 people.

These advancements appear to demonstrate the company’s commitment to enhancing the user experience in its virtual environments. It is making them increasingly interactive and engaging.
