Audio technology startup Tomorrow Doesn’t Matter (TDM) has launched a unique product at CES 2026. It’s a headset named the Neo Hybrid that can be converted into a portable Bluetooth speaker.
At first sight, the Neo Hybrid appears to be an ordinary set of headphones. However, the adaptable headband can be wrapped around the earcups and transformed into a portable speaker. It is a compact, portable and easy to use speaker befitting for outdoor camping and other settings.
Headphones that convert into speakers aren’t a new concept, but TDM has adopted a distinctive design approach for the Neo Hybrid. Each earcup contains two 40mm drivers — one facing inward and the other directed outward. When the headphones are wrapped up or activated with a button, the internal drivers turn off, and the external drivers activate, enabling audio to be heard without sound coming from the earcups.
According to TDM, the device delivers a clear and captivating sound profile with headphones and surprisingly good volume when used as a speaker.

Neo Hybrid Provides Various Usage Modes
Users have the option to personalise the actions triggered by twisting the headphones, including automatically changing modes, pausing playback, turning off.
The headphones feature an integrated microphone for making calls. Connectivity uses Bluetooth 6, featuring multipoint pairing and support for Auracast. There is also a wired choice with a 3.5mm connection.
The gadget features two interchangeable 1,500mAh batteries, and their performance is quite good. TDM says the device has a playback time of up to 200 hours in headphone mode, which decreases to 10 hours when using speaker mode. The gadget features USB-C quick charging. TDM claims it can provide eight hours of battery life in headphone mode with just a five-minute charge.
The headphones do not feature active noise cancellation; instead, they rely on passive noise isolation.
The Neo Hybrid will be available in black and white colour options and will be priced at $249.
