The Ghanaian digital platform, Creion, has lauched Reach, enabling people, communities, and organisations to benefit from crowdfunding. It is tailored to help drive social causes through a locally developed platform. Also, it charges no fundraising fees for monies received through the platform.
Also, users can launch campaigns for educational purposes, healthcare expenses, community initiatives, startups, artistic endeavours, and individual aspirations. The feature is available to people, students, artists, nonprofit organisations, and community groups, without requiring the organisation of an event or membership in a formal organisation.
The company stated that Reach was created based on insights acquired from its event ecosystem. The company’s CEO highlighted the platform’s desire to transform how aids are received in the continent.
“While developing this platform, we discovered a significantly larger discrepancy.” “Countless Africans do not have easy access to receive aid seamlessly from their own communities,” stated Eric Arden, Co-founder and CEO of Creion.
Also, Creion noted that the creation of Reach was also shaped by the team’s personal experiences. This includes instances of families facing difficulties in gathering finances for medical care and other urgent necessities. It exposes the lack of reliable, local fundraising resources.
No Platform Charge
Also, one key aspect of Reach is its no-platform-fee approach, guaranteeing that every donation reaches beneficiaries in full without any deductions. Donations are handled securely in Ghana cedis, a step the company stated aims to enhance transparency and trust.
Trust and dependability are essential in online fundraising. “Our emphasis has been on creating a platform that is safe, scalable, and user-friendly for regular people,” stated Tsatsu Adogla-Bessa, Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of Creion.
Addressing Major Issues Impacting Fundraising
Also commenting about the launch is Aurelia Abena Attipoe, Founder of The Pitch Hub and Advisory Board Member of Creion. She stated that the platform addresses significant obstacles to fundraising throughout the continent.
“What Creion has achieved with Reach is directly addressing trust and access, two of the main obstacles to fundraising throughout Africa.” “It serves as a powerful illustration of how considerate technology can enable large-scale generosity,” Ms Attipoe stated.
Also, Reach enhances Creion’s extensive range of services, which encompasses event management, ticketing, guest check-in. Furthermore, it allows users to manage event-linked donations, and analytics for hosts, allowing the platform to cater to both commercial gatherings and purpose-driven projects.
Reach can be accessed on Creion’s mobile application and web platform.
