Before the end of April, Apple anticipates releasing at least three iOS updates, including iOS 18.2.1, iOS 18.3, and iOS 18.4.
We describe what each of these improvements will provide below.
iOS 18.2.1
With iOS 18.2.1, Apple has made “important bug fixes.” We revealed last month that iOS 18.2.1, which is anticipated to have build number 22C161, has been being internally tested by Apple.
Given the increasing frequency of the software upgrade in our analytics logs, it may be released as early as this week. It’s unknown which exact concerns may be fixed in iOS 18.2.1, a minor update that patches bugs and/or security vulnerabilities.
Public and developer betas for minor updates like as iOS 18.2.1 are not available.
iOS 18.3
Since mid-December, iOS 18.3 has been available for developers and public beta testers to test, and thus far, it appears to be another small upgrade. The Home app’s capability for robot vacuums is the only possible new feature that iOS 18.3 iPhones may get, albeit it isn’t operational yet. Key features of your robot vacuum can be controlled using Siri voice commands and the Home app when this capability is available.
The only other very small changes made to iOS 18.3 so far are bug fixes and a slightly modified Image Playground icon. Only one beta of iOS 18.3 has been released by Apple thus far, so future betas may include more features and modifications. Given that Apple’s software programmers are off for many days during the holiday season and that serious problems must be avoided, it is common for software updates that are in beta testing to be small. The anticipated release dates for iOS 18.3 are late January or early February.
iOS 18.4
With iOS 18.4, which is anticipated to bring several new Apple Intelligence improvements for Siri, things will finally get exciting again. iOS 18.4, which Apple has been testing internally for some months, is anticipated to be a significant release. Siri is anticipated to acquire a number of new features on the iPhone 15 Pro and all iPhone 16 models, such as deeper per-app controls, on-screen awareness, and a better comprehension of contextual information.
However, it is anticipated that iOS 19.4 in March or April of 2026 will be the first to release a fully conversational ChatGPT-like version of Siri. Chinese, English (India), English (Singapore), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, Vietnamese, and other languages will eventually be available for Apple Intelligence over the course of the next year or two.
