The Ogun State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has unveiled a new official website and an AI-powered learning management system designed to enhance teaching and learning in public schools throughout the state.

The site, available at moest.ogunstate.gov.ng, was launched in partnership with the AI-driven Ogun Learning Enhancement and Academic Resource Network (OgunLEARN), offering educators digital lesson notes aligned with the curriculum.

During the launch on Thursday, Education Commissioner in Ogun State, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu stated that the initiatives aimed to enhance efficiency, transparency, and service delivery in the education sector.

Arigbabu clarified that the updated website would serve as a central resource for information on the ministry’s policies, programs, and projects, in addition to providing access to essential digital tools used by the ministry.

OgunLEARN: Designed to Enhance Classroom Learning

He described OgunLEARN as a government-supported online learning platform designed to enhance classroom instruction by providing teachers with lesson materials for every subject, grade, and term. This is quite similar to Schoolnet’s Smart Class Solution.

He claims that the platform enables educators to design and assign quizzes, monitor student achievement, and obtain data-driven insights to facilitate personalized learning.

Arigbabu stated that the AI-driven digital lesson notes would alleviate the pressure of manual lesson preparation, offer prompt insights into students’ development, and allow teachers to spend more time helping learners.

“These resources—the website, OgunLEARN, and DiPER—demonstrate a ministry that is increasingly transparent, more reliant on data, and more dedicated to providing practical assistance for education and learning,” he stated.

He urged educators to start examining the platform as it launches in schools in the next few days, noting that the aim is to create a learner-focused, digital-first education system.

Furthermore, the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Mrs Oluwatosin Oloko, commended the initiative, emphasising that OgunLEARN aims to simplify routine duties, enhance productivity, and enable teachers to concentrate more on effective teaching.
