The Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, has expressed enthusiasm over a new partnership between the Nigerian government and Schoolnet India Ltd. and Learnet Skills Ltd. He is aiming to foster collaboration is aimed at rolling out KYAN smart class solutions in schools across Nigeria.
He stated that the initiative, which aims to digitally revolutionise education by implementing interactive smartboards and digital resources to enhance learning outcomes. Also, he said it will significantly benefit primary and secondary schools in Nigeria.
The Vice President, addressing a team from Schoolnet India Ltd. and Learnet Skills Ltd. on Monday. The team was led by the Managing Director/CEO of KYAN smart class solutions, Mr RCM Reddy.
In a statement from his spokesperson, Stanley Nkwocha, Shettima urged the Schoolnet Ltd team to collaborate with relevant Nigerian federal government officials. He urged them to discuss ways to adapt the learning package by incorporating local content for schools in Nigeria.
Senator Shettima highlighted the innovative school programs in Edo and Enugu, two states he mentioned that have made substantial investments in smart schools. He noted that combining these local concepts with KYAN smart class solutions will significantly enhance Nigerian schools.

He recalled implementing Schoonet’s intelligent classroom solutions for students in Borno State during his tenure as Governor. He emphasised that these innovations could transform Nigeria’s education system.

“I am more interested in your offerings for primary and secondary schools, similar to what you did in Borno.”

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of SchoolNet India Limited, Mr Reddy expressed great delight. He stated that the company is greatly motivated by the Nigerian government’s initiative to incorporate technology in educational settings.
In an effort to take advantage of the extensive educational prospects in Nigeria, he described their unique offering—a “school in a box.”
Emphasising the characteristics of the smart class innovation, he remarked, “It includes a built-in projector and a top-tier computer. It transforms any wall into a smartboard and features a camera. It is pre-equipped with digital materials for grades 1 through 10.
“And it additionally utilises AI when the internet is accessible.” Where it isn’t accessible, all the material is preloaded within this ‘school in a box.’
Mr Reddy also indicated that, if implemented, the Kyan innovation will significantly enhance teachers’ effectiveness in Nigeria.
He remembered that Schoolnet’s smart class solutions were introduced to Borno State when Vice President Shettima served as Governor. He emphasised that teachers in the state received training to use them.
